About Whitelancer Web Development

Our mission

Our ongoing goal is to provide efficient, self-sustaining website tools for Maine businesses to allow them to reach more customers by developing and designing with the latest in web technologies. Complex websites need not be an expensive proposition; by using open-source software when possible, Whitelancer Web Development is able to provide complex, robust, interactive solutions affordably to our clients. At the same time, we also excel at creating completely custom, tailored web applications that avoid the limitations of "off the shelf" software.

Our history

Whitelancer Web Development has roots as far back as 1997 when John Smith, its proprietor, began creating websites using PHP and other scripting languages. John has been a programmer since the age of 14, and continues to expand his knowledge after having graduated with a degree in computer science in 2002. After working as the sole web developer at a local magazine company for many years, John was ready for more. In 2007, he transformed Whitelancer Web Development into a full-time business rather than solely a freelance enterprise. Currently, Whitelancer Web Development, Inc. and its employees are based in Rockport, on midcoast Maine. (Knox county, just south of Waldo County). Rockport is nestled between Camden, Union, and Rockland.
